The musicians


Mark "Stempenyuk" Kovnatskiy - violin,

graduate of P. I. Tschaikowski conservatory in Moskow is an internationally renowned klezmer violinist, composer and experte of yiddische folk dance. Beside his actual projects Semer Label Ensemble, Hamburg Klezmer Band, Joel Rubin Ensemble, Fialke, Queen Esther Klezmer Trio und European World Music Ensemble Mark also played as a guest musician with Socalled (KAN), Aaron Alexander's Midrash Mish Mosh (USA), Painted Bird (DE/USA), Forshpil (DE/RU) u.a. und unterrichtet international jiddische Musik und jiddischen Tanz.

From 2009 to 2016 he was art director of the international festival "Yiddish Fest Moscow" (RU) and in 2009 musical director of the festival "KlezmerFest" in Hamburg (GE).

His original compositions are played by groups around the world.
