Monika Feil - violin, voice,
founder and musical director of Fialke, plays Yiddish music since 1993. She is also a member of the klezmer group fir.
She studied klezmer fiddle, Yiddish song and dance with teachers like Joshua Horowitz, Steven Greenman, Kurt Bjorling, Michael Alpert, Alan Bern, Steve Weintraub among others. She also was engaged in the study of the Yiddish language.
She was a teacher for klezmer fiddle at Varwe Musica Vienna and at Yiddish Summer Weimar. For many years she performed with different vocal ensembles with emphasis on early and contemporary music such as the Vokalensemble Josquin De Prés Nuremberg. She worked as a voice trainer with the Siemens-Chor Erlangen.
She has a degree as a body therapist (Functional Relaxation of Marianne Fuchs) and as a voice trainer and therapist (Functional Voice Work of Michael Heptner).
